My name is Casey Vollmer and I am a web solutions provider. You may be wondering what a web solutions provider is. Well, when I sat down to put a label on myself (I am not fond of labels) I wanted to make sure that I settled on something that truly represents me. I considered web designer, but felt that didn't represent my programming capabilities. What about web developer? Closer, but not quite. Guru? I hate that term. I have met many self proclaimed gurus that I wasn't very impressed with. I settled on web solutions provider because that is what I do. I solve problems. Any problems related to the web technologies and I can solve them. My customers and employers will tell you that I don't believe in the phrase "It can't be done". I will find a way.
I stumbled into this career out of necessity. Years ago, when I was an administrative assistant, I was presented with boring, repetitive tasks. I told myself "There has to be a way to automate this". And so I set out to find a way. VBA macros and batch files were my remedy. Well let me tell you that automation is addictive. One macro gave way into a library of them and generating export files from one system, conversion tools, and then import files into another system. Not only was I getting ton of work done (and saving my employer a lot of money), but I was having fun and being creative. I was just asking for mundane tasks so that I could find new ways of automating them.
This evolved into VBScript and ASP for building websites. Again, at the time, many people were building HTML site and the maintenance was ridiculous. I was having a ball building smarter ASP websites that were a snap to maintain.
I could go on and on, but the story is pretty much the same. I love what I do! I enjoy challenging projects and learning new skills. Just check out my skills page and you will see. I also like to help people, another aspect of my job that is rewarding. I have made my reputation of being dependable and trustworthy. I say what I mean and do what I say.
I hope I get the chance to work with you,
- Casey Vollmer
